Gretchen Gross T-shirt
Limited edition signed silkscreen art in the form of a t-shirt!
(100% cotton, beautiful quality)
If you buy and wear one of these shirts you will bring this art project to life! It is about joyfully permeating our city, Buffalo, with feminine power. The artist aims to achieve her goal with your help, by literally spreading authentic images of real Buffalo women around town on these beautiful, high-quality t-shirts.
Each shirt features a woman’s portrait along with words she either wrote or chose herself. Gretchen granddaughters’s original quote reads: “My grandmother said ‘death is a part of life, but it doesn't have to be the end of something.’ These words have held me up in the months since we lost her unexpectedly and have reminded me of the strength in leading by example, the power of community, and that our loved ones live on long beyond their time here on this planet.”
Gretchen Gross's granddaughter joined the project by asking me to honor her late grandmother. Mrs. Gross was a vibrant, nurturing and impactful leader of the Jewish community, whose generosity extended to the entire Buffalo region. She was an early childhood educator who founded the Audubon Child Development Center, dedicated herself to Camp Centerland and served as the JCC's president for a time. Her passing was a devastating loss, still keenly felt today.
